Approved at the 2nd meeting of the Academic Affairs Council in the 2023-24 academic year on June 5, 2024

一、國立成功大學（下稱本校）為鼓勵學生積極參與跨領域學習，增進學生自主探究修習他系開設課程，訂定本要點。

1.  These Directions are established by National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) to encourage students to proactively participate in interdisciplinary studies and enhance their independent study of courses offered by other departments.

二、本要點所稱自主探究學分，係指本校學士班一年級及二年級學生修習他系(學位學程)開設之跨域課程，經申請核准認列之課程學分。

2.  The course credits from self-motivated study defined in these Directions refer to the credits on interdisciplinary courses, offered by other departments (degree programs) and completed by first-year and second-year undergraduate students at NCKU, which shall be recognized as course credits upon approval of an application.

三、下列課程不適用於自主探究學分：

(一)學生主修學系(學位學程)或雙主修學系(學位學程)所開設之課程。

(二)通識課程(含國文及英文)、服務學習課程、體育課程及教育學程課程。

(三)全民國防教育軍事訓練課程。

(四)模組化課程。

(五)暑修課程。

(六)與本系(學位學程)課程名稱相似之他系(學位學程)課程。

當學期僅修習一門課程者，該課程不得申請認列為自主探究學分。

3. The course credits from self-motivated study shall not apply to the following courses:

  (1) Courses offered by the major program (degree program) or a double major program (degree program)

  (2) General education courses (including Chinese and English courses), service-learning courses, physical education courses, and the Educational Program courses.

  (3) National defense education and military training courses.

  (4) Modular courses.

  (5) Summer courses.

  (6) Courses of other programs (degree programs) with titles similar to those of the major department (degree program)

If students enroll in only one course in the semester, the credits completed shall not be recognized as course credits from self-motivated study.

四、自主探究學分認列與採計規定如下：

(一)課程原始成績及格，則學業成績註記為通過（PASS）並取得學分，不顯示原始成績且不列入學期平均計算。

(二)課程原始成績不及格，該課程紀錄與學業成績不顯示於成績單上。

(三)學生修業期間得申請自主探究學分，以六學分為限；超過時，不予核准，並依原成績計算方式辦理。

4. The regulations for the recognition and calculation of course credits from self-motivated study are as follows:

(1) If a course receives a passing grade, it will be registered as PASS in place of a grade with credits completed and specified on the transcript. The original grade will neither appear nor count in the semester grade average calculation.

(2) If a course receives a failing grade, neither the course nor the grade will appear on the transcript.

(3) Students may apply for a maximum of six course credits from self-motivated study during their years of study. No application for excess credits will be approved, while courses completed will be subject to calculation based on the original grades.

五、學生申請自主探究學分應於次學期開學前一週向教務處註冊組提出，逾期不予受理。經核准認列為自主探究學分後，不得撤回或更改。

5.  Students shall apply for course credits from self-motivated study to the Registrar’s Division under the Academic Affairs Office one week before the start of the next semester. Late applications will not be accepted. Upon approval, an application for course credits from self-motivated study shall not be retrieved or altered.

六、學生應依規定繳納學費或其他課程相關費用，不因課程認列為自主探究學分而有所減免。

6.  Students should pay tuition or fees for course enrollments in accordance with the relevant regulations, regardless of whether courses are recognized with credits from self-motivated study.

七、本要點如有未盡事宜，悉依本校學則及其他相關規定辦理。

7.  Matters that are not regulated in these Directions shall be administered in accordance with the NCKU Academic Regulations and other relevant regulations.

八、本要點經教務會議通過後實施，修正時亦同。

8.  These Directions shall be approved by the Academic Affairs Council before taking effect. Amendments shall be processed accordingly.
