一、   國立成功大學工學院(以下簡稱本院)為招收優秀國際大專校院教師至本院攻讀博士學位，並協助其就學期間減少

          經濟負擔，特訂定本要點。

The College of Engineering of National Cheng Kung University (hereinafter referred to as COE) has formulated this Guidelines in order to recruit outstanding teachers from international colleges and universities to study for doctoral degrees in COE and to assist them in reducing their economic burdens during their studies.

二、   申請資格：就讀於本院博士班一年級至四年級，具有一年以上國外大專校院專任教師服務經驗之外國學生，但已

          領有政府獎學金或本校博士菁英獎學金者，不得申請。

Qualifications for Application: Those who are studying in the first to fourth grade of the doctoral program in COE, have a minimum of one-year teaching experience in foreign colleges or universities. However, those who have received scholarships from Taiwan government or have received Elite Doctoral Scholarship of NCKU are not allowed to apply.

三、   獎助名額：依博士生入學年度為基準，每一學年度至多獎助6名為原則，各學年度獎助名額，視本院經費收支

          情形彈性調整。

Quota of Scholarship: Based on the admission year, at most 6 students will be awarded in each academic year. The quota of scholarship for each academic year may be flexibly adjusted according to the funding situation of COE.

四、   獎助金額：本院核發每月7,000元為上限，指導教授需配合發給至少每月8,000元。每次核定一年，須逐年審核。

Amount of Scholarship: Each recipient will receive a maximum monthly stipend of NT$7,000 from COE, and a minimum monthly stipend of NT$8,000 from his/her supervising professor. This scholarship is approved for one year and is subject to annual review.

五、   審查程序：於本院公告期限內，向所屬系所提出申請，由系所進行初審後，將申請資料彙送本院進行決審。

Examination Procedure: Before the officially-designated deadline, applicants should submit their applications to their respective departments for preliminary examination and then send their applications to COE for final examination.

六、   獎助限制：一般博士生受獎助至多以三次為限；逕行修讀博士學位生受獎助至多以四次為限。

Regulations: Generally, the scholarship can be awarded to the same PhD student for three times at most, whereas the students who direct pursuit to current doctoral program can be awarded for four times.

七、   受獎生於獎助期間內，如有下列情形之一者，廢止獲獎資格，自次月起不再核給本獎助學金。

(一)、 休學、退學。

(二)、 於公私立機構從事專職工作。

(三)、 發表國內外期刊論文或報告，經認定有違反學術倫理情事。

(四)、 違反校內章則，遭記大過以上處分確定。

Recipients, who are under any of the following circumstances during the award period, will be disqualified to receive scholarship from the following month:

I.            Suspended or dropped out of school.

II.         Engaging in full-time work at a public or private institution.

III.      Publishing domestic or international journal articles or reports that are deemed to violate academic ethics.

IV.      Receiving a major demerit or worse for violating University rules, and the disciplinary action is finalized.

八、   經費來源：由本院自籌收入支應，本院得視經費收支情形停止實施本要點。

Source of scholarship: In this scholarship, grant provided by COE comes from its self-generated revenues. COE may stop implementing these guidelines depending on its funding situation.

九、   本要點經本院院務會議及校務基金管理委員會通過後實施，修正時亦同。

本要點修正若未涉經費動支，得免經校務基金管理委員會審議。

These guidelines shall come into effect after they have been approved by the College Council of COE and the NCKU Endowment Fund Management Committee. Amendments shall be processed accordingly, except for those unrelated to endowment funds, which can be exempted from submission to the NCKU Endowment Fund Management Committee for approval.
