第一條 本系博士班研究生之入學註冊﹑選讀﹑修讀年限﹑學分﹑成績﹑轉系﹑畢業及學位等,需依照本校教務規章之規定辦理。博士學位考試依『國立成功大學研究生學位考試細則』之規定辦理。
Article 1 The registration, electives, study period, credits, grades, department transfer, graduation, and degree of doctoral students of the Department shall be governed by NCKU academic affairs regulations. The Ph.D. examination shall be governed by the National Cheng Kung University Enforcement Rules for Doctoral and Master’s Degree Examinations.
第二條 博士班研究生原則上於在學第一學期(十月底前、三月底前)選定指導教授並開始組成博士論文指導委員會。該委員會至少三位以上委員組成(包括指導教授),且其中除指導教授外至少一位為本系專任教師,其餘委員由指導教授負責推薦校內外具備相當於助理教授或以上之資格者,經學生事務委員會通過後組成,委員會召集人由全體委員共同推舉出,該委員會由研究生主動聯繫。更換指導教授時須於一學期之內組成新的指導委員會。
Article 2 Students of the doctoral program should select their advisors and begin establishing their Dissertation Advisory Committee before the end of the first semester (before the end of October or before the end of March), in principle. The Dissertation Advisory Committee shall consist of at least three committee members (including the faculty advisor), while at least one of the members other than the advisor must be a full-time teacher of the Department. The remaining members shall be teachers ranked at a level equal to or higher than associate professor, from within or outside NCKU, as recommended by the faculty advisor. The Dissertation Advisory Committee shall be established after obtaining the approval of the Student Affairs Committee, and the convener of the Dissertation Advisory Committee shall be elected by all members of the committee. The student shall actively contact the Dissertation Advisory Committee. A new Dissertation Advisory Committee must be established within one semester if the student changes his/her faculty advisor.
第三條 博士論文指導委員會之職責如下: Article 3 Responsibilities of the Dissertation Advisory Committee are as follows:
一、輔導研究生之課業及研究,每學年至少召開一次進度報告會議。 I. Offer guidance on the student's course work and research, convening for at least one progress report meeting each academic year.
二、審定研究生修讀博士學位之資格。 II. Review and ascertain the student's qualifications toward studying for their doctoral degree.
三、審核博士候選人之研究成果。 III. Review the research results of the Ph.D. candidate.
第四條 博士班資格考試:依本系博士學位候選人資格考核實施要點辦理。 Article 4 Ph.D. Qualifying Examination: Governed by the Department's Directions for the Administration of Ph.D. Qualifying Examination.
第五條 博士學位考試: Article 5 Ph.D. Examination:
一、本系博士班學位考試,除依照本校研究生學位考試細則及相關法令外,並依照本系下列博士學位申請及通過規定事項辦理。 I. In addition to the National Cheng Kung University Enforcement Rules for Doctoral and Master’s Degree Examinations and related regulations, the Ph.D. examination of the Department shall be governed by the following Ph.D. application and approval regulations.
二、修畢本系規定之必修科目,並已達最低應修學分數。 II. Students must complete the required courses prescribed by the Department and acquire the minimum number of credits.
三、本系博士班研究生於在學期間,需擇一通過以下英語檢定方案之一,方得提出學位考試申請。 III. Doctoral students of the Department must select one of the following English language certifications during their studies in order to apply for their Ph.D. examination.
(一)取得相對應於「全民英檢」中高級初試之檢定證書者,部分對照表如下:
(I) Obtained certificates equivalent to the GEPT high-intermediate preliminary test. The following is a comparison table for some of the tests:
(二)取得教育部或科技部獎助專案出國三個月以上(限歐、美英語系國家) (II) Obtained scholarships/grants from the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Science and Technology and has traveled abroad for three months or more (English-speaking countries in Europe and the Americas only).
(三)自費或計畫補助出國研究6個月以上(限歐、美英語系國家) (III) Has gone on self-funded or subsidized overseas research for six months or more (English-speaking countries in Europe and the Americas only).
(四)如論文已達畢業門檻,尚未通過本系英語畢業門檻要求,可修讀外文系成鷹計畫辦公室開授「研究所線上英文」,或英文能力有明顯可資參考之紀錄,經論文指導委員會提送本系學生事務委員會同意後,視為通過。 (IV) If the student has fulfilled the graduation requirements of the dissertation but has yet to fulfill the Department's English graduation requirements, he/she may complete the Online English for Graduate Students course held by the NCKU Eagle Project Office of the Department of Foreign Languages & Literature. Students may otherwise present documents that can prove his/her English proficiency; after the relevant documents have been sent to the Student Affairs Committee of the Department by the Dissertation Advisory Committee and received the former's approval, the requirement shall be considered fulfilled.
(五)學生若來自於母語為英語系國家者,免提英文能力證明,但須提供就讀證明。 (V) If a student is a native English speaker, he/she does not need to present English proficiency certificates, but the certificate of enrollment is still required.
四、博士班研究生在撰寫論文初稿前,需填寫學位考試審查紀錄表,經指導教授簽名同意後始准撰寫論文。 IV. Before beginning to write the first draft of his/her dissertation, the doctoral student must fill out the Review Record Sheet for Ph.D. Exam and have their advisor sign the relevant form consenting to the writing of the dissertation.
五、博士班研究生於申請博士學位考試,需符合下列條件之一,方得提出申請,並在博士班修讀期間完成者為限。以論文發表(含已接受刊登者)申請畢業者,其正式論文(Full Article)發表以列名於SCI之期刊為限,且以畢業當年SCI 5-year Impact Factor 計算,研究生及指導教授之研究單位需以本系名義發表,若有兩位指導教授共同指導,至少需一位以上為通訊作者,研究生不得為通訊作者。 V. The doctoral student must fulfill one of the following criteria during his/her study period before applying for their Ph.D. examination. For students who apply for graduation through dissertation publication (including those that have already been published), his/her full article must be published in a SCI journal and shall be calculated based on the SCI 5-year Impact Factor of the graduating year. The student and advisor must publish their dissertation with the Department as the research unit. If there are two faculty advisors, at least one advisor must be the corresponding author. The student cannot be the corresponding author.
(一)期刊學門領域排名前25%或5-year Impact Factor >3的獨立第一作者一篇。 (I) Being the independent first author of an article published in a journal that ranks in the top 25% in the field of study, or for which the 5-year Impact Factor is greater than 3.
(二)發表期刊數篇5-year Impact Factor總合後大於5的第一作者之論文。 (II) Being the first author of several articles published in journals with a total 5-year Impact Factor greater than 5.
(三)其中若有等同第一作者的情形,需符合期刊學門領域排名10%以內或5-year Impact Factor 5.0以上一篇,需附貢獻聲明書。(僅限等同第一作者其中1人作為畢業論文使用) (III) If a co-first author exists, the article must be published in a journal that ranks in the top 10% in the field of study, or the article must have minimum of 5.0 5-year Impact Factor. A contribution statement must be attached (only one of the first authors may use the article as their graduation dissertation).
(四)如有上款之情形,但5-year Impact Factor>10經系務會議討論同意後得不限1人作為畢業論文使用。 (IV) If the aforementioned situation occurs but the 5-year Impact Factor is greater than 10, the article may be used as a graduation dissertation by more than one person upon obtaining approval at the Department Meeting.
(五)已獲發明專利者得由指導教授具名提出推薦,研究生為第一或次一順位(指導教授為第一)發明者且經系務會議審核通過之專利才得計算之;且研究生至少需有一篇學門領域排名前50%期刊論文(須為第一作者) 發表。 (V) If a student has already obtained an invention patent, he/she may be recommended by the faculty advisor; the student must be the first or next in line (the faculty advisor being the first) inventor of the invention, and the patent must pass review at the Department Meeting. Furthermore, the student must have published at least one article (the student must be the first author) in a journal ranked in the top 50% in their field of study.
(六)技術移轉案以經過本校正式核定通過之技術移轉案為限,技轉總金額乘以技轉貢獻比例達新台幣100萬以上;且研究生至少需有一篇學門領域排名前50%期刊論文(須為第一作者) 發表。 (VI) Technology transfer projects shall be limited to those projects that have been officially approved by NCKU, and the total monetary amount of the technology transfer multiplied by the percentage of technology transfer contribution must be NT$1 million or more. Furthermore, the student must have published at least one article (the student must be the first author) in a journal ranked in the top 50% in their field of study.
六、博士班研究生申請學位考試時,需依照本校規定格式,繕寫研究論文及論文摘要,連同學位考試申請書向本系提出申請學位考試。學位考試委員由論文指導委員會推薦校內外教授五至九人(校外委員需三分之一以上),並經系務會議通過後組成學位考試委員會。 VI. When applying for their Ph.D. examination, the student needs to follow the NCKU regulations and formats when writing the abstract of the dissertation and the dissertation itself, and then submit them to the Department alongside the Ph.D. Examination Application Form. The Ph.D. Exam Committee shall consist of five to nine professors from within or outside NCKU, as recommended by the Dissertation Advisory Committee (at least one-third of the committee members must be professors from outside NCKU); moreover, the Ph.D. Exam Committee shall be established upon obtaining approval at the Department Meeting.
七、學位考試申請期限及成績送達時間: VII. Application deadlines for Ph.D. examinations and grade submission times:
(一)第一學期:自行事曆開始上課日起至1月20日止。口試成績於1月31日前送達註冊組。 (I) First semester: From the first day of school to January 20. Grades for the oral examination will be submitted to the Registrar Division before January 31.
(二)第二學期:自行事曆開始上課日起至7月20日止。口試成績於7月31日前送達註冊組。 (II) Second semester: From the first day of school to July 20. Grades for the oral examination will be submitted to the Registrar Division before July 31.
(三)因特殊情形專簽經教務長同意者,申請期限得延長至當學期學位考試前一日,惟口試成績仍應於上述規定日期內送達註冊組。 (III) Students with special reasons may apply for their Ph.D. examination as late as one day before the examination after submitting a written request to the Dean of Academic Affairs and obtaining his/her approval; however, the grades shall still be submitted to the Registrar Division according to the deadline mentioned above.
八、學位考試每學期舉行一次,以口試行之,必要時亦得舉行筆試。惟情形特殊,非採視訊方式無法完成口試者,得專案簽請教務長核准後,始可辦理。惟仍應以公正公平公開之方式舉行,並全程錄音錄影存檔,送所屬教學單位存查。 已申請學位考試之研究生,若因故無法於該學期內完成學位考試,應於學期結束日前,申請撤銷該學期學位考試。逾期未撤銷,亦未舉行考試者,以一次不及格論。 VIII. The Ph.D. examination is held once per semester in the form of an oral examination. A written examination may be administered if necessary. In special circumstances where the oral examination cannot be completed without video conferencing, a special written request may be submitted to the Dean of Academic Affairs and the examination may proceed upon obtaining his/her approval. However, the examination must still be held openly in a fair and just manner. The entirety of the examination shall be recorded, saved, and sent to the corresponding teaching unit for filing. If a student has applied for the Ph.D. examination but is unable for some reason to complete the examination in the same semester, he/she shall cancel his/her application before the last day of the semester. If the student fails to cancel the Ph.D. examination before the deadline and also fails to take the examination, he/she shall receive a failing grade on the examination.
九、學位考試成績,以一百分為滿分,七十分為及格,評定以一次為限,並以出席委員評定分數平均決定之,惟須逾出席委員三分之二以上評定為及格者方為及格,否則以不及格論。 學位考試成績不及格,其修業年限尚未屆滿者,得於次學期或次學年申請重考,重考以一次為限;重考成績仍不及格者,應令退學。 學位考試舉行後,如未能於該學期完成應修課程之研究生,其考試成績不予採認,亦不計入學位考試之次數。 IX. With 100 points as the maximum score and 70 points as a passing score, the Ph.D. examination shall be graded once only, and the grade is an average of the scores assigned by each attending committee member; however, unless at least two-thirds of the attending members have given a passing score, the grade shall still be considered a failing grade. Students who fail the Ph.D. examination but have not exceeded the duration of study may apply to retake the examination only once in the next semester or the next academic year. Students shall be expelled if they again fail in the second examination. Students who are unable to complete the required courses in the same semester after taking the Ph.D. examination may not have their examination grades recognized, and the Ph.D. examination shall also be considered invalid.
第六條 博士班研究生修業期限以二至七年為限。逕攻博士為者修業期限至少三年,至多七年為限。 Article 6 Doctoral students may spend two to seven years to complete their studies. Direct-admission doctoral students may spend three to seven years to complete their studies.
第七條 本辦法未盡事宜,悉依本校相關規定及本系其他規章處理。 Article 7 Any matters that are not addressed in these Regulations shall be governed by other NCKU policies deemed relevant and other regulations of the Department.
第八條 本辦法經系務會議通過後實施,修訂時亦同。 Article 8 These Regulations were implemented with the approval of the Department Meeting. The same shall apply to all subsequent amendments.
