第一條  國立成功大學(以下簡稱本校)為提升人文社會科學領域之研究水準,推動跨領域學術整合與創新之人文社會學之卓越研究,強化人文社會科學價值及影響,特依本校組織規程第八條,設置「國立成功大學人文社會科學中心」 (以下簡稱本中心)。

Article 1  National Cheng Kung University (hereinafter referred to as “NCKU”) has established the Research Center for Humanities and Social Sciences (hereinafter referred to as the “Center”), in accordance with Article 8 of the Organizational Charter of NCKU to upgrade the research standards in the field of humanities and social sciences, promote outstanding research in humanities and social sciences through cross-discipline academic consolidation and innovation and reinforce the value and impact of humanities and social sciences.

第二條  本中心之任務如下:

一、整合國內外及本校相關院系所之研究資源與能量。

二、強化具有區域特性之研究主題,發展台灣主體性與全球化相關之議題。

三、建立活躍的研究社群,並培育人文社會青年學者。

四、其他與人文社會研究相關工作之推動。

Article 2  The Center has the following missions:

1.  Integrate research resources and energies domestically, internationally and from relevant colleges, departments and schools of the University.

2.  Reinforce regional research themes, developing issues related to the subjectivity and globalization of Taiwan.

3.  Establish an active research community, nurturing young scholars of humanities and social sciences.

4.  Promote other tasks related to humanities and social research.

 

第三條  本中心置中心主任一人,綜理各項業務,由校長聘請人文社會科學領域之教授或同級研究員兼任之。

Article 3  The Center has one Director to manage its activities. The Director shall be appointed by the President of the University from among professors in the field of humanities and social sciences, or researchers of equivalent level.

第四條        本中心為有效執行任務,下設三組,各組業務職掌如下:

一、行政企劃組:負責本中心各項行政業務工作,更新與維護本中心專屬網站,爭取校外計畫資源,並規劃本校與國內外人文社會科學相關機構之合作與學術交流。

二、研究教育組:整合國內外相關研究教育資源,規劃並發展主題研究社群,活化相關領域之研究與教學能量,落實校內外跨領域之學術發展,培育青年學者。

三、社會實踐組:結合國內外相關研究資源,以推動本校社會責任相關之實踐型研究與教學。

各組置組長一人,督導各項業務之執行,由中心主任聘請助理教授以上教學人員或同級以上之研究人員或專業技術人員兼任。
本中心得置人文社會科學領域相關專長背景教師、研究人員、職員及以校務基金進用之專案教師、研究人員若干人,其聘任評審要點由本中心另訂之。

本校教師或本中心研究人員得就人文社會科學領域重大研究議題,申請成立專題中心,其設立及管考要點另訂之。

Article 4    To perform its missions effectively, the Center has 3 sections, responsible for below activities respectively:

1.      Administrative and Planning Section: All administrative tasks of the Center, the maintenance and updating of the Center’s dedicated website, obtaining external project resources, and planning of academic exchanges and cooperation among the University and humanities and social sciences related institutions, domestic and overseas.

2.      Research and Education Section: Integrating domestic and international resources and research capacities, planning and developing theme research group, enabling research and teaching energies in the relevant fields, promoting interdisciplinary academic, and cultivating young scholars.

3.      Social Practice Section: Connecting domestic and foreign research resources to promote practical research and teachings related to social responsibilities in the University.

Each section shall have one coordinator to supervise the performance of the activities.  The Coordinators shall be appointed by the Director of the Center from among teaching staff with a minimum level of assistant professor or researchers or professional technicians of equivalent or higher level.

The Center may have teachers of relevant expertise and background in the field of humanities and social sciences, researchers, staff members, and multiple project teachers and researchers hired with the University Affairs Fund. The guidelines for the hiring and review of such members shall be further established by the Center.

The teachers of the University or the researchers of the Center may propose to establish theme centers based on major research themes in the field of humanities and social sciences. The guidelines for the establishment, governance, and evaluation of such theme centers shall be further established.

第五條  本中心設立諮議委員會,對本中心的研究發展提供相關建言。諮議委員會成員由校長擔任主任委員,另由校長敦聘副校長、文學院院長、社會科學院院長、研發長及國內外人文社會科學領域聲望卓著之學者,共九至十一人組成之。諮議委員任期二年,得連任。諮議委員會每年至少開會一次,視需要得召開臨時會議。本中心辦公空間由校方規劃提供,所需經費由年度預算勻支,並應積極爭取校外研究資源。

Article 5  The Center has an Advisory Committee to provide relevant recommendations about the research and development of the Center. The Advisory Committee has 9 to 11 members, including the President of the University, who shall serve as the Chairman of the Committee, as well as the Vice President of the University, Dean of College of Liberal Arts, Dean of College of Social Science, Director of the Office of Research and Development and reputable scholars in the domestic and overseas field of humanities and social sciences to be invited by the President of the University. Members of the Advisory Committee shall serve terms of 2 years and may be renewed upon expiry of the term. The Advisory Committee shall have the meeting at least once every year and may have special meetings as required. The office space of the Center shall be planned and provided by the University. The funding shall be allocated through the annual budget. The Center shall have an active pursuit of research resources from off-campus.

第六條 本中心設審議委員會,審核中心年度計畫、各子計畫申請經費及相關業務之推動。審議委員會以中心主任為召集人,中心主任推薦校內相關領域之教師或研究人員六至十人報請校長聘兼之。審議委員任期二年,得連任。審議委員會每學期至少開會一次,視需要得召開臨時會議。

Article 6  The Center has a Review Committee to review the annual plan of the Center, the funding applications for sub-plans and the promotion of relevant activities. The Director of the Center shall serve as the Chairman of the Review Committee. The Director of the Center shall recommend 6 to 10 teachers or researches in the relevant fields within the University for hiring by the President of the University. Members of the Review Committee shall serve terms of 2 years and may be renewed upon expiry of the term. The Review Committee shall have the meeting at least once every semester and may have special meetings as required.

第七條 本中心行政及研究空間由校方規劃提供,所需經費由年度預算勻支,並應積極爭取校外研究資源。

Article 7  The administrative and researching space of the Center shall be planned and provided by the University. The funding required shall be allocated through the annual budget. The Center shall have an active pursuit of research resources from off-campus.

第八條  本中心延聘之各類教學人員於受聘期間依本校相關規定予以減授鐘點;惟教師全時擔任研究學者期間,經專案簽准得免授鐘點。前項人員受聘期間並得比照訪問學者申請配住宿舍。

Article 8  All types of teaching staff hired by the Center may reduce the number of teaching hours during the period of servicing in the Center in accordance with the relevant regulations of the University. However, when a teacher serves as a research scholar on a full-time basis, an approved project may be granted to release the teacher from the teaching hours.  During the service period, such staff may also file applications for allocation of dormitories in the same manner as visiting scholars.

第九條  本辦法經校級研究中心評議委員會及校務會議通過後施行。修正時,經主管會報審議通過,陳請校長核定後施行。

Article 9  These Regulations shall be effective upon the approval of NCKU University-Level Research Center Review Committee and University Affairs Council. The amendments to the regulations shall be enforced upon authorization of the President, after the same are approved by the Executive Board Meeting.
