一、國立成功大學(以下稱本校),為辦理校友傑出成就獎人選甄選事宜,依據本校組織規程第二十四條規定,訂定本要點。
1. According to Article 18 of the NCKU Organizational Regulations, the Directions are enacted by National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) with the aim of facilitating the selection.


二、目的
為表揚本校從事各行業,對人群社會及國家建設有具體貢獻,且其傑出成就已獲各界公認之校友,藉以激勵後進學生,作奮發向上之楷模,特設置『國立成功大學校友傑出成就獎委員會』(以下簡稱本委員會)。
2. Purpose: The Committee for the Selection of the Distinguished Alumni Award (the Committee) shall be formed to commend the widely recognized achievements made by NCKU’s alumni in all fields that have substantial contributions to mankind, society, and the nation’s infrastructure, in order to serve as role model for NCKU’s young students.


三、組成
本委員會由校長擔任召集人,置委員若干人,除校友聯絡中心主任為當然委員外,由校長就校內外人士聘兼之,委員任期一年,得連任之。
本委員會開會時,以召集人為主席,並得邀請有關院長(含系主任)列席;決定得獎人選須經出席委員三分之二(含)以上之同意。
3. Formation: The Committee shall be headed by the President, who shall serve as the convener, and consists of numerous other committee members. In addition to the dean of the Alumni Association Center, who shall automatically become one of the committee members, other members shall be recruited by the President. Members may be recruited from within or outside the University, each serving a one-year term and with the possibility of being reappointed.
When Committee meetings are convened, the convener shall act as the chair and has the discretion to invite related college deans (including chairmen) to attend the meeting. Award recipients can only be determined upon the approval from two-thirds or more of the committee members present at the meeting.


四、本委員會之任務如下:
(一)關於本要點之研訂、修正或建議事項。
(二)訂定傑出成就校友之評審標準。
(三)選拔並表揚傑出校友。
(四)其他有關傑出校友事項。
4. The Committee’s missions are as follows:
(1)Researching, drafting, and revising the rules set forth in this document and making suggestions related to the Directions.
(2)Setting review criteria for the selection of the Distinguished Alumni Award.
(3)Selecting and praising distinguished alumni.
(4)Dealing with other matters related to distinguished alumni.


五、傑出成就校友候選人資格:
凡本校各學院系(所)畢業(含肄業),足為本校學生楷模者(以不在本校工作者為限),均得為候選人。
5. Qualifications of alumni candidates for the Distinguished Alumni Award:
Candidates may be alumni who graduated from any college/department/(graduate school) of NCKU or former students who have not completed their studies but are considered worthy role models for NCKU’s students (candidates shall not currently be in service at NCKU).


六、選拔程序:
(一)每年辦理一次。由學院或校友聯絡中心推薦候選人至本委員會。
(二)學院推薦候選人:
1.由系(所)副教授以上三人或校友五人連署,向系(所)推薦候選人,經系(所)務會議或系所評審會初評後,送請院務會議或院評審會評選通過。
2.候選人為跨系(所)者,依上開規定連署後,得逕向學院推薦,經院務會議或院評審會評選通過。
(三)校友聯絡中心推薦候選人:
由校友五人連署,向各地校友會推薦候選人,經各地校友會理監事會議或評選會初評後,送請校友聯絡中心評選會議評選通過。
(四)校友聯絡中心評選會議,應邀請被推薦校友之系(所)主管列席。
(五)推薦過程宜主動蒐集資料,以不知會被推薦人為原則。
(六)本委員會審查通過,並由推薦單位徵詢當選人意願後,再行公布得獎人名單。
6.Selection procedures:
(1)Selection shall be carried out once a year. Recommended candidate lists shall be sent to the Committee by colleges or the Alumni Association Center of NCKU.
(2)Candidates recommended by colleges:
I. Any candidate recommended to the department/graduate school shall first be countersigned by three associate-level professors or above at the department/graduate school, or be countersigned by five alumni, before the department/graduate school undertakes a preliminary review during a department/graduate school affairs meeting or department/graduate school review meeting. Once passed the preliminary review, the candidate recommendation list shall be sent to a college affairs meeting or college review meeting for review and approval.
II. When a candidate belongs to more than one department/graduate school, the candidate may be recommended directly to the college, provided that the aforementioned countersign rules are followed. The candidate recommendation list shall then be reviewed by a college affairs meeting or college review meeting for review and approval.
(3)Candidates recommended by the Alumni Association Center:
Any candidate recommended to the local alumni associations shall first be countersigned by five alumni before the local alumni associations undertake preliminary review at a council/supervisory meeting or review meeting. Once passed the preliminary review, the candidate list shall be sent to the Alumni Association Center for further review and approval at the review meeting.
(4)The managers of the department/graduate school related to the candidate being recommended shall be invited to review meetings at the Alumni Association Center.
(5)Information about the candidate shall be collected during the recommendation process. As a rule of thumb, the candidate shall not be notified of the fact that he/she is being recommended.
(6)The award recipient list shall be announced after the Committee reviews and approves the recipients. Furthermore, recipients shall be consulted by the recommending units with regard to their willingness before releasing such announcement.


七、候選人資格保留
前一年度候選人中若有符合獲獎資格(即經本委員會出席委員三分之二(含)以上之同意),但受限於名額而未當選者,得保留一年候選人資格。
7. Reservation for candidate qualifications:
In the case that a candidate was qualified to receive the award in the previous year (i.e., approved by two-thirds or more of the committee members present at the meeting), but was not selected due to a quota, such candidate’s qualifications may be reserved for one year.


八、選拔原則
本委員會每次遴選獲選者,以一至十人為原則。
8. Selection rule: In general, one to ten recipients shall be selected by each Committee review.


九、選拔日期:
各系(所)或各校友會於四月底前將候選人推薦予各學院或校友聯絡中心,各學院或校友聯絡中心於五月底前審畢並向秘書室提出,經秘書室彙整後於六月間提交本委員會審定。
9. Selection schedule: Candidate lists shall be sent to colleges or the Alumni Association Center by departments/graduate schools or local alumni association centers before April. Colleges or the Alumni Association Center shall then complete reviews by the end of May and propose the candidate lists to the Secretariat Office, which shall then propose them to the Committee in June for review and approval.


十、評審標準:
(一)符合立德、立功、立言之標準,對人群社會及國家建設有具體公認之成就事蹟。
(二)聲望。
(三)品德。
(四)奮鬥過程。
10. Selection criteria:
(1)Facts of achievement that are widely recognized to benefit mankind, society, and the nation’s infrastructures. The candidate shall also exhibit high morals, extensive service for the public, and provocative thinking or speech.
(2)Level of prestige.
(3)Moral and ethics.
(4)Historical endeavor.


十一、表揚:
獲選本校校友傑出成就獎者,於校慶時公開表揚,並得刊印得獎校友簡介廣為報導。但當選傑出校友,如故意違反法律,經法院有罪判決確定,不列入宣傳表揚資料。
11. Public praising: Award recipients will be publicly commended at the NCKU anniversary celebration event each year. Written descriptions or coverage of the recipient may also be printed and circulated. Award recipient alumni who intentionally violate the law and are found guilty will not be commended or recorded.


十二、本要點若有未盡事宜,得由行政會議議決之。
12. Any matters that are not regulated in these Directions shall be administered according to Administrative Meetings at any time.


十三、本要點經行政會議通過後施行,修正時亦同。
13. The Directions shall be implemented upon approval by the Administrative Meeting. Any amendments shall be processed accordingly.
