一、國立成功大學(以下簡稱本校)為辦理校友傑出成就獎甄選事宜,表揚本校從事各行業,對人群社會及國家建設有具體貢獻,其傑出成就已獲社會各界公認之校友,依據本校組織規程第二十四條規定,設校友傑出成就獎委員會(以下簡稱本委員會),並訂定本要點。
1. To select awardees of Distinguished Alumni Awards and to recognize alumni from various fields who have made concrete contributions to society and national development and whose outstanding achievements have been widely acknowledged by society, National Cheng Kung University (hereinafter NCKU) established the Distinguished Alumni Award Selection Committee (hereinafter the Selection Committee) and enacted the National Cheng Kung University Directions for the Establishment of Distinguished Alumni Award Selection Committee and Selection of Awardees (hereinafter the Directions) in accordance with Article 24 of the Organizational Regulations of National Cheng Kung University. 

 

二、本委員會由校長擔任召集人,校友聯絡中心中心主任為當然委員,並由校長聘請校內外委員若干人組成,任期一年,得連任之。
召集人及當然委員因故無法出席會議時,得委託其職務代理人出席,其餘委員應親自出席會議。
2. The president serves as the convener of the Selection Committee, and the dean of the Alumni Association Center serves as an ex-officio member. The president shall appoint individuals from within and outside of NCKU as committee members, who shall serve a term of one year and may be re-appointed.
In the event where the convener and ex-officio member are unable to attend a meeting, they may delegate their deputies to attend it on their behalf. Other committee members shall attend the meeting in person.

 

三、本委員會任務如下:
(一)研訂、修正本要點之建議事項。
(二)訂定傑出成就校友之甄選標準。
(三)甄選並表揚傑出校友。
(四)其他有關傑出校友事項。
3. The Committee’s missions are as follows:
(1) Researching, drafting, and revising the suggestions for the Directions.
(2) Setting criteria for the selection of the distinguished alumni.
(3) Selecting and commending distinguished alumni.
(4) Dealing with other matters related to distinguished alumni.

 

四、傑出成就校友候選人資格:凡本校各學院系(所)畢業(含肄業),足為本校學生楷模者,且非本校現職專任人員,均得為候選人。
4. Qualifications of candidates for the Distinguished Alumni Awards: Alumni who (1) graduated from any college/department/(graduate school) of NCKU or former students who have not completed their studies but are considered worthy role models for NCKU’s students and (2) are not a full-time employee of NCKU may qualify as candidates. 

 

五、推薦程序:
(一)由學院或校友聯絡中心推薦候選人至本委員會,每年辦理一次。
(二)學院推薦候選人方式:
1. 由系(所)副教授以上三人或校友五人連署,向系(所)推薦,經系(所)務會議或系所評選會議初評後,送院務會議或院評選會議評選通過。
2. 候選人為跨系(所)者,依前目規定連署後,得逕向學院推薦,經院務會議或院評選會議評選通過。
(三)校友聯絡中心推薦候選人方式:
1. 由校友五人連署,向各地校友會推薦,經各地校友會理監事會議或評選會議初評後,送校友聯絡中心評選會議評選通過。
2. 校友聯絡中心評選會議,應邀請被推薦校友之系(所)主管列席。
(四)推薦過程宜主動蒐集資料,以不知會被推薦人為原則。
5. Candidate recommendation procedure:
(1) Candidates are recommended to the Selection Committee by each college or the Alumni Association Center for the year.
(2) Process of candidate recommendation by colleges.
i. Any candidate recommended to the department/graduate school shall first be countersigned by three associate-level professors or above at the department/graduate school, or be countersigned by five alumni, before the department/graduate school undertakes a preliminary review during a department/graduate school affairs meeting or department/graduate school review meeting. After passing preliminary evaluation at the department (graduate school) affairs meeting or department selection meeting, the list of candidate recommendation shall be submitted to the college affairs meeting or the college selection meeting for evaluation and approval.
ii. When a candidate belongs to more than one department/graduate school, the candidate may be recommended directly to the college, provided that the countersign rules specified in the preceding item are followed. The list of candidate recommendation shall then be reviewed by a college affairs meeting or college selection meeting for approval.
(3) Process of candidate recommendation by the Alumni Association Center.
i. Any candidate recommended to the local alumni associations shall first be countersigned by five alumni before the local alumni associations undertake preliminary review at a council/supervisory meeting or review meeting. After passing the preliminary review, the list of candidate recommendation shall be sent to the Alumni Association Center for further review and approval via meeting.
ii. The director of the department/graduate school where the recommended candidate belongs shall be invited to review meetings at the Alumni Association Center.
(4) Information about the candidate shall be collected during the recommendation process. As a rule of thumb, the candidate shall not be notified of the fact that he/she is being recommended.

 

六、各系(所)或各地校友會應於每年四月三十日前,將候選人推薦予各學院或校友聯絡中心,各學院或校友聯絡中心應於五月三十一日前完成評選,並向秘書室提出。秘書室彙整年度推薦名單後,提交本委員會進行甄選。
6. Each department (graduate school) or local alumni association shall recommend candidates to their respective colleges or the Alumni Association Center by April 30th of each year. Each college or the Alumni Association Center shall complete the selection process by May 31st and submit the candidate list to the Secretariat Office. After compiling the annual list of candidate recommendation, the Secretariat Office shall submit it to the Selection Committee to proceed with the selection process.

 

七、甄選程序:
(一)本委員會開會時,以召集人為主席,並得邀請有關院長(含系主任)列席。
(二)甄選標準:
1. 符合立德、立功、立言之標準,對人群社會及國家建設有具體公認之成就事蹟。
2. 聲望。
3. 品德。
4. 奮鬥過程。
(三)本委員會決定獲獎者,須經出席委員三分之二以上之同意,始為通過。獲獎者,以一至十人為原則。
(四)經本委員會甄選通過,由推薦單位徵詢當選人意願後,再行公布獲獎名單。獲獎訊息,以秘書室完備相關作業後之公告為準。
7. Candidate selection procedure:
(1) The Selection Committee, with the convener as the chairperson, may invite the associated college deans (including department heads) to attend the meeting.
(2) Selection criteria:
i. Facts of achievement that are widely recognized to benefit mankind, society, and the nation’s infrastructures. The candidate shall also exhibit high morals, extensive service for the public, and provocative thinking or speech.
ii. Level of prestige.
iii. Moral and ethics.
iv. Historical endeavor.
(3) The Selection Committee’s decision on the awardees must be approved by more than two-thirds of the members present. The number of awardees shall range from one to ten in principle.
(4) After an awardee is selected and approved by the Selection Committee, the recommending department/graduate school/local alumni association shall reach out to the selected awardee to confirm acceptance of the award before announcing the list of awardees. The award announcement shall be made after the Secretariat Office’s completion of related procedure.

 

八、候選人依前點第三款規定,經本委員會同意,受限於名額而未當選者,其候選人資格得保留至次一年度。
當年度獲保留資格候選人之提名表及其他推薦資料,由原推薦單位依第六點推薦時程辦理更新。
8. In accordance with paragraph 3 of the preceding article, candidates who have been approved by the Selection Committee but have not been selected due to quota limitations may have their candidacy retained for the following year.
The nomination forms and other recommendation documents for candidates with retained qualifications for the current year shall be updated by the recommending department/graduate school/local alumni association according to the schedule in Article 6.

 

九、獲選本校校友傑出成就獎者,於校慶時公開表揚,並得刊印得獎校友簡介廣為報導。但當選傑出校友,如故意違反法律,經法院有罪判決確定,不列入宣傳表揚資料。
9. Award recipients will be publicly commended at the NCKU anniversary celebration event each year. Written descriptions or coverage of the recipient may also be printed and circulated. Award recipient alumni who intentionally violate the law and are found guilty will not be commended or recorded.

 

十、本要點未盡事宜,由本委員會參酌相關法令規定議決之。
10. Any matters not covered in the Directions shall be decided by the Selection Committee in accordance with relevant regulations.

 

十一、本要點經行政會議通過後實施,修正時亦同。
11. The Directions shall be implemented upon approval by the Administrative Meeting. The same principle applies when amendments are made.
